Equipment may differ, formulas and hearing aids alter, but I am in agreement with what this article points out: the test box can be considered a vastly under-used and under-appreciated piece of equipment. It can provide an alternative verification for when REMS are unobtainable or impractical. It can reassure with basic measurements whether the aid meets its factory settings. It can verify the functionality of a loop. With variety being the spice of life, one would believe the test box is never out of use, yet experience and confidence in knowledge may all impact on our facilitation of these items. This article provides a strong base to increase our knowledge and usage of this multifunctional piece of kit.
