This is a systematic review from surgeons in Italy and Florida where, from an initial 799 potentially relevant articles, only six could be included. Efficiency was assessed by the mean ischemia time which, for the virtual group, was 73.8 minutes, and freehand group, 109.9 minutes. In addition, the total operating time was reduced in the virtual group by over 65 minutes. The authors acknowledge that the increased efficiency and superior accuracy arises out of virtual planning but are uncertain about its actual contribution to clinical practice.
