A research funding call is encouraging applications from disciplines that rarely lead clinical research, offering an important opportunity for UK audiology. It comes from the Research for Patient Benefit (RfPB) Programme of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NHCR) and aims to strengthen the careers of under-represented disciplines and specialisms.
The call is for proposals of up to £500,000 for a period of up to three years and follows the RfPB approach to funding limits according to the trajectory to patient benefit. It offers researchers considerable flexibility to focus on any subject area or topic provided the application is within RfPB remit.
This call invites applications led by registered health and care professionals (HCP) who were not eligible to apply to the previous RfPB highlight notices supporting under-represented disciplines and specialisms. All applications must be led by a registered HCP, including clinical scientists, healthcare scientists, non-medical public health practitioners, optometrists, pharmacists and practitioner psychologists. To support capacity building, applications must be led by an HCP at an early stage of their career, supported by a mentor and an experienced, strong and multi-disciplinary team.
A virtual webinar with a live Q and A session will be hosted on Tuesday 10 December 2024 at 2 pm.
Please note that all applicants are required to submit an expression of interest by 05 March 2025 before proceeding to Stage 1 application submission.
