The ENT UK Global Health group was established six years ago as part of ENT UK, the professional membership body representing ENT and head and neck surgery in the UK. ENT UK Global Health promotes high-quality, sustainable ENT care in low-resource countries with a high burden of disease. It seeks to raise awareness of global inequality in the management of ENT and head and neck conditions, and to promote training, education and sustainability.
As part of this mission, it has developed the ENT UK Global Health Fund, awarding grants of up to £2,000 to projects related to global health. Applications are now open for this year’s fund and can be made by any registered health professional employed within a public healthcare system and by employees of international bodies or non-governmental organisations, whether in the UK or internationally.
Priority will be given to projects demonstrating specific plans for sustainable, long-lasting impact in areas of greatest need. The deadline for applications is Friday 7 October 2022.
The successful applicants will be announced at the online ENT UK Global Health Conference on Friday 18 November 2022. The annual event features speakers from around the world, exploring topics essential to understanding global health. It will be a rewarding opportunity for ENT healthcare practitioners at all levels.
