Effective newborn hearing screening programs have resulted in earlier diagnosis of hearing loss in infants. This also means that early intervention has been made possible. However, when it comes to validating the success of a fitted hearing aid in a young child, assessment possibilities have been limited. Until now.

The Eclipse Aided Cortical module offers an objective method to validate the benefit of hearing aids or cochlear implants in infants and other patients who cannot subjectively respond to a hearing test. With this validation, clinicians can feel confident that the child actually perceives sounds and parents are reassured that the hearing device makes speech audible to the child.

The test is performed in a free-field set-up on the awake patient and offers features like a precise response detector and sound field test analyser for quick and accurate test results.

The new Aided Cortical module for Eclipse will be available from Autumn 2024.
