The XI Marius Plouzhnikov Memorial Lecture was held in Moscow, 6 - 7 September 2019. The first day was devoted to the problems of rhinology and skull base surgery. Professor Jean Anderson Eloy (New Jersey) shared his extensive experience on reconstruction techniques after skull base surgery, endoscopic septoplasty and surgical nuances for endonasal removal of tuberculum sellae meningiomas.  Professor Bert Schmelzer (Antwerp), the second honorary guest, gave two brilliant lectures on CFD simulation of nasal aerodynamics and surgical treatment of obstructive nasal turbinates. A broad range of topics from rhinology basics to advanced skull base surgery and reconstruction was covered by recognised speakers from Saint Petersburg and Moscow. The day ended in a warm and welcoming atmosphere of an authentic Ukrainian restaurant with delicious food and lovely traditional songs.
