The ENT Society of International Medical Graduates held their 23rd ENT Academic meeting at Edgbaston Cricket Stadium. The meeting was one of six sessions being held in different rooms in collaboration with Association of Pakistani Physicians in Northern Europe. The meeting was approved for 2 CPD points by ENT UK.

Audience Members

The meeting started with Mr Haroon Khan Consultant ENT Surgeon, introducing the speakers. Mr Ijaz Ahmad spoke on 'Surgical management of Differentiated Thyroid Cancer'.

He updated on recent national and local guidelines in the management of thyroid malignancy. The next speaker was Mr Noweed Ahmad who spoke on 'Cochlear Implants past, present, and future', He discussed the criteria of candidacy for Cochlear implantation and the nature of surgery involved. The last speaker was Mr Shahzada Ahmed who introduced a very interesting topic 'Trans-orbital approaches to Skull Base'. Mr Ahmed discussed the multidisciplinary approach in the management of sinonasal and skull base tumours. The attendees were from different grades and from across UK and thoroughly enjoyed the presentations. At the end of the meeting there was a prize draw for the registered participants and three ENT books were given out.
