Rhinocon 2019 was the 2nd Rhinology conference of Pakistan and was organised by the Society of Rhinology & Endoscopic Skull base Surgery (SORESS). Professor Muhammad Mujeeb, President of SORESS, was the Director of the conference.
The Rhinocon conference officially opened on 14 February 2019. Delegates from all over Pakistan attended the conference. The event highlighted a wide variety of advancements taking place in the field of rhinology. Key topics covered in the conference include update on management of rhinosinusitis, rungal sinusitis, endoscopic skull base surgery, septorhinoplasty, facial pain management and aspirin desensitisation/samter triad management.
Invasive Fungal sinusitis, Mucormycosis seems to be more prevalent in this part of the world and a number of lectures covered this challenging condition. Lectures were well-received and delegates gave good feedback.
Professor Mujeeb and his team were very excellent hosts and showed us the grandeur of Lahore. We visited Lahore fort, museums and Shalimar Gardens. The mosques were beautiful and the people and consultants were very religious, humble and respectful to the visitors. We were also entertained in nice luxury restaurants with curry and delicious foods. In summary, the conference was well-organised, well-hosted and would encourage our consultants to attend to work closely with them.
