The global otolaryngology community will converge on Miami Beach, Florida, Saturday, September 28 - Tuesday, October 1, to ‘Experience the Extraordinary’ for the AAO-HNSF 2024 Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO.
Saturday will be bookended by the Opening Ceremony, starting at 8:00 am (ET), and the Presidents’ Reception, at 7:00 pm (ET). Professor Kelvin M. Kong, AM, MBBS BSc, MD, is the honorary Guest Lecturer for this year’s John Conley, MD Lecture on Medical Ethics, which will be presented during the Opening Ceremony. Australia’s first Aboriginal surgeon, Dr. Kong will examine the issues of ear disease among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. To cap off the first full day of education and events is the Presidents’ Reception, which will offer attendees plenty of time to network and connect with colleagues from around the globe with the picturesque view of Miami Beach and the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop.
This year’s education program features 525+ sessions, including plenty of new offerings such as the ‘Stump the Experts’ series, the ‘Care Equity’ track, and a new artificial intelligence mini track. These new sessions are a direct response to attendee feedback and will serve to examine various timely topics in the otolaryngology community.
For the second year, Monday, September 30 will be International Day. From the International Symposium to the Eugene N. Myers, MD International Lecture on Head and Neck Cancer, International Sessions, and Global Regional Round tables, there will be no shortage of content for our global community. All international attendees are also encouraged to attend the International Reception on Monday evening.
The Honorary Guest Lectureships are a time-honored tradition at the Annual Meeting. In addition to the Conley and Myers lectures, the H. Bryan Neel III, MD, PhD Distinguished Research Lecture will be presented by Noam A. Cohen, MD, PhD, focusing on the topic of ‘Taste Receptors in Upper Airway Innate Immunity: Implications in ENT Diseases.’
Notable Scientific Oral and Poster Presentations will also fill the schedule. From among the hundreds of research presentations submitted for the 2024 Annual Meeting, the Annual Meeting Program Committee, comprised of physician members, selected 16 Scientific Oral Presentations as the “Best of Orals.” Topics include: Understanding the Composition of a Comprehensive Otolaryngologist’s Practice, Ibuprofen and Preoperative Pain Counselling Reduce Opioid Use Following Routine Endocrine Surgery, An Analysis of Black Women in Otolaryngology-Head and Surgery: From Training to Practice and Leadership.
Featuring the most comprehensive display of the latest products and services available for advancing the specialty, the OTO EXPO will be home to more than 200 exhibitors during the Annual Meeting. Attendees can participate in hands-on demonstrations and Q&A about innovative, new products and technology that can help improve their practice and enhance patient care.
This year’s Annual Meeting will follow a new Saturday – Tuesday schedule so that physicians spend less weekday time away from their patients and practices. The AAO-HSNF looks forward to welcoming you to Miami for #OTOMTG24. Learn more and register today!
